On a new list of surging under-the-radar domestic travel destinations this winter, three B.C. spots made the list.
Airbnb included Revelstoke, Osoyoos, and Comox-Strathcona on its list of “hidden gems” destinations that are defining Canadian travel this winter. Especially for “travellers look[ing] for fresh winter alternatives.”

“This winter, Canadians are continuing to embrace the rise in domestic travel, rediscovering the beauty, variety, and charm waiting right in their own backyard,” said Airbnb in a release.
“From snow-dusted mountain towns to forested hideaways, travellers are choosing winter getaways that feel both familiar and fresh—and sometimes just a short drive away.”
Revelstoke, Osoyoos, and Comox-Strathcona were all named to Airbnb’s hidden gems for winter travel, making B.C. the province with the most Canadian travel destinations on the list.
Tourism Revelstoke
Six hours from Vancouver and under five hours from Calgary, Revelstoke is a small town known for its big mountain.
Revelstoke is home to the biggest vertical drop in Canada, with loads of snow and vast ranges of untouched snow to discover.
The B.C. ski resort has been sweeping up the awards lately, being named the third-best overall ski resort as well as being awarded the title of World’s Best Powder in the 2025 Snomad Ski Resort Awards.
Osoyoos in the Okanagan Valley is one part desert, one part lake life, and one part wine country, making it a travel destination that makes “must-visit” lists regularly.
If that’s not enough, throw in an abundance of local vineyards, great farm-to-fork food, and a rich Indigenous cultural experience, all of which make it a spot travellers love to visit year after year
